In 1997, Jennifer graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Education.
Before becoming a "mostly stay-at-home" mom, Jennifer held positions in two private firms and one nonprofit organization, as a public relations and educational consultant. She is the former Assistant Director of the Delaware Charter Schools Network, Inc. Jennifer is involved in a variety of community service works, and has spent many years working on public education reform in Delaware.
In particular, Jennifer is passionate about providing children with opportunities to discover their own gifts and develop a love of learning. She concentrates her energy on encouraging schools to educate "thinkers" and invest in a well-rounded and humanities-rich curriculum. She is also a committed advocate for library enrichment and expansion.
Jennifer is an avid traveler, reader, and cook. She and her husband James have three children: Carson (9), Shepard (7), and Clay (3). They reside in a restored historic home in Townsend, Delaware.
