Middle School Math League

 

 

Congratulations 7th grade Math League team for placing 1st in the region
and 3rd in the State Invitational Competition.

 

Grades 6-8  (Runs until April)

This club will meet on Mondays, 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM, until April. 

Math League is an interscholastic competition for 6th, 7th and 8th grade mathematicians involving math contests against other area middle schools. Winners in each region go on to participate in the State Math League Invitational.  Math League is coached by Don Whitaker and Pam Price.

MOT Charter has a history of Math League Success!
• In 2008, one 7th grade team and one 8th grade team qualified for the state invitational.
• Of 56 total 8th graders, we had a 1st & 2nd place finishers and a 7th grade 1st place finisher

Congratulations to the 21 Middle School Math League participants for another successful season! Team members included: 8th Graders Srisha Bolledula, Kaitlyn Scott, Samantha Rosenthal, Tyler Andrews, Mary Quin Hassig, and Yasmin Mann; 7th Graders Srinath Venkatesh, Rudy Wright, Sabrina Rosenthal, Jimmy Hall, Sam Casalvera, Elizabeth Habash, Aditya Kulkarni, Chris Evans, and Sean McEvoy; 6th Graders Alexander Yu, Abieshek Subramaniam, Bryanna Elliot, Vignesh Parthiban, Mia Kelly, and Shachi Shah.

Demonstrating true excellence in mathematics, the 8th grade team came in fourth in the region and the 6th /7th grade Red Team finished in 1st place in the region. The Red Team will compete against the 1st place teams from other regions at the state invitational in April. Sean McEvoy and Vignesh Parthiban were the high scorers for MOT Charter 6th/7th graders, with Sean scoring the most points in the region. Samantha Rosenthal was the high scorer for the 8th grade team and has been invited to participate in the state invitational as an ‘at large’ competitor because she was one of the highest scorers in the region.
