OUR WEEK IN REVIEW

May 18, 2012

This week we had some special activities: we saw a laser light show, sponsored by the Student Council, and enjoyed a pizza party as our award for winning the door contest last week.  Here’s a look at some of our other activities:

MATH: we reviewed greater than/less than;  played “store” and practiced adding prices of things bought at the grocery store

SCIENCE: we continued learning about insects by observing millipedes and pill bugs (roly-polies) in our classroom terrariums.  We also read about butterflies and played butterfly bingo.  Next week we will be wrapping up our organisms unit by hatching chicks!

PHONICS: review of digraphs (sh, th, wh, ph)

GUIDED READING/WRITING: we identified future tense verbs in sentences.  In our SRA unit we read The White House and Snail’s Pace.  We also designed and described our own dream houses!
