Language Arts-5/15/12
We have finished Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech. We will continue our author study and read Love That Dog and Hate That Cat. The students will also be reading different types of poetry and analyzing poems. Along with reading poetry, the students will create some poetry of their own!
Homework for the week of 5/15:
All books are expected to be completed by May 15th. Your final reading response is due on Tuesday, May 15th. For the final assignment, you will need to explain about a life lesson people should learn from the story. You need to support your answer with several pieces of evidence from the book. Also, explain why it is an important lesson to you and how it will help you.
1) Comprehension packet - No comprehension packet this week.
2) Vocabulary Quiz - Monday (May 21st). The following are the vocabulary words to review: aghast, featureless, distraction, eternity, arduous, abandon, hazardous, fatigue, agony, ordeal.
3) Spelling test on Friday, May 18th. New spelling words will be handed out on Friday, 5/18. Next test will be on Friday, May 25.
****The students are running low on pencils and my supply has run out. Please make sure that your son/daughter has a supply of pencils. Thank you!
