Writing:

Students have completed their research papers!  Now we are working on a few smaller writing prompts focusing on using figurative and descriptive language.  Sharon Creech, the author we are studying, makes fantastic use of idioms, similes, hyberbole, metaphors, and imagery.  We will try to emulate her style by using these tools to liven up our writing.

Currently, students are writing a story about a picture that was displayed on the board.  When revising, students will focus on the use of figurative language to enhance the readers' experience of the piece.
