Mrs. Taylor's 7th Grade Honors Reading

Welcome to 7th Grade HONORS READING!

NO MORE READING LOGS for the rest of the year!

We are currently reading Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet.
The poster projects about Shakespeare's world were fun and informative.

 Book Group Projects

Book Groups this cycle are: Jane Eyre, The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Ring,
Lord of the Flies, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and The Giver.

In general, I expect my Honors Reading students to perform at a higher and faster level.  This includes the amount as well as depth of material covered.  For example, Honors Students generally have more vocabulary terms for homework, and their quizzes contain more words than traditional Reading Sections.  Their content quizzes may include more advanced questions and inquiries.

Please encourage your child to read whenever possible.  It doesn't matter what they choose to read -- so long as they gleam something from it.  Peripheral knowledge is an amazing thing and can have a huge impact on retention and intellectual growth!
