SPORTS AT MOT
"If We Build It - They Will Come"
MOT Charter School students participate in soccer, basketball and other sports. MOT Charter School has a soccer field and state of art playground facility on its campus. The multi-purpose room provides indoor recreation for Special Olympics, basketball, soccer, and cheerleading.
Organized sports for children provide an opportunity for increased physical activity and an opportunity to learn sports and team skills in an environment where risks of participation can potentially be controlled. The nature of parental or adult involvement can also have a positive influence for children.
Physical activity has become a more regular part of life for the average child. Sports and games provide an additional outlet for physical activity. "Free play" also allows for development of motor skills, social interaction, creativity, and enjoyment for children.
