Writing -  My autobiography
Grammar - daily grammar practice
Reading Groups - Students will be reading about 30 minutes every day. Circles received leveled books based on their DCAS reading score.  Students will be using these books to reinforce learned reading strategies.

posted 4/3 - no new reading log for over spring break.
posted 3/20: Spelling and Vocabulary homework has changed.  For each word, students are expected to list the part of speech, definition, and use the word in a sentence.  The "form" for writing the definitions is attached below, but students can use regular paper.

posted 9/2/2011: A reading log was sent home around 8/18 and is due 9/6.  I hope your child has shown this to you as it requires a parent signature.  A copy can be found be scrolling to the bottom of this page

posted 9/8/2011:  Student government essays are due 9/26 for anyone interested in running for an office.

 posted 9/9/2011: Any student who scored below an 80% on their Noun quiz may retake the quiz on Wed. 9/14.  I have provided them with a review sheet and packet.  in an effort to be fair to all students, the highest score a re-tester can earn is an 80% if they answer all questions correctly.

posted 9/20/2011: I am not checking agenda books at the end of the day.  Please continue to check your child's agenda book each night.

Posted 9/21/11: Students were assigned their Cereal Box Book Report.  Their book choice is due October 3rd.

Students have an Open Book Reading Test Thursday 9/22 on Dragon, Dragon Story and Literary Analysis Terms.

 posted 10/3: Open Book Reading Test- Wed. 10/5 on Becky and the Wheels-and-Brake Boys, plus conflict and resolution terms.  posted 10/24/11: Cereal book report and presentation is due 10/31.  Presentations will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Be sure to check your report against the rubric.  MOT spelling bee will be the first week in December.  I have given the students a list of spelling bee words which I will be "testing" them on Tuesdays.  Students who are successful will earn a reward - TBD

posted 10/25 - There is no reading log or S&V test next week. Students should be working on their cereal box report and science research question.

11/3 - Reminder S&V due 11/8 and quiz on 11/9, adverb quiz 11/9.  Please check your email and let me which conference time you'd prefer.

11/29: Reminder 11/30 S&V test, 12/1 Field trip - bring a bagged lunch, 12/2 grammar quiz

12/12: Reminder tomorrow 12/13 is the retake of preposition quiz.

12/13: Goal setting party will be held on December 22nd.  See attached flyer for more information.  No new vocabulary assigned for next week.
